Not the undifferentiated mass “jamming” addressed via powerful but poorly mastered automation tools often denounced by Bruno Fridlansky, but soft, professional approaches, but nevertheless relatively direct. For me, this type of approach has nothing to do with Social Selling. There's nothing social about it. We are in a fairly classic mechanism of direct approach to prospects, in which LinkedIn is the new reference professional directory, replacing Kompass & Co. This has several names: direct marketing, email marketing, marketing automation (applied to LinkedIn) . And for me, this has nothing to do with social selling. In these approaches, LinkedIn only has a database of contacts.
What do protection “experts” do on LinkedIn? Further proof that it’s not “social Email Data selling” that works? I met and interacted with several hyper-specialized service providers in this niche of direct prospecting on LinkedIn. Whether they do it on your behalf (Benoit or Antoine); whether they use a tool (Alexandre) or offer a support solution (Yann): their approaches are based on engagement scenarios via LinkedIn messaging. None (in any case it is not highlighted either on their profiles or in their speeches) relies on what I call social selling. Besides, this is not what is highlighted on their profiles. Here is what we can read there: “I am a strategy consultant and I double the number of contracts signed >50k€ in less than 6 months, by the sales teams of SMEs – ETI – TGE”.
